The season is upon us. Just one week away. No more makeshift schedules. It's time to take it up a notch and prepare for the season of competition. College basketball is back.
The first official practice of the season has always been a holiday of sort for me over the years. This year, not so much.
The offseason didn't quite pan out how I would've liked it to. My many attempts to get better and to grow with a person of interest were met with numerous "scheduling conflicts." My summer days and summer nights weren't spent canoodling. Summer like never manifested into summer love. The short summer months quickly turned to fall.
So what's next you might ask? Well I'm a firm believer of making time for what you want. If the time wasn't made when schedules were more laid back why would anything change with the start of the season?
The sound of a horn is synonymous with the start of a drill in basketball. For me the horn signifies the end. My wake up call. No more going through the motions. No more giving credit where it hasn't been earned.
The season is upon us. Let's see how good it goes with zero expectations...
